Birlasoft Ltd has announced the appointment of Vikram Puranik as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective April 1, 2026. Based in Pune, Vikram will play a central role in strengthening the company’s global delivery, innovation capabilities, and operational performance.
A part of the CKA Birla Group, Birlasoft is entering a crucial phase of growth, and the appointment underscores its focus on scaling delivery excellence while accelerating digital transformation for global clients. Vikram brings more than 25 years of experience in building high-performance engineering organizations and leading large-scale transformation programs.
In his new role, Vikram will focus on enhancing operational efficiency, driving margin expansion, and improving productivity across the enterprise. He will also work closely with leadership teams to advance the adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, helping clients achieve scalable and future-ready outcomes.

Prior to joining Birlasoft, Vikram held a senior leadership role at GlobalLogic, where he served as Chief of Engineering Delivery and Operations and managed profit and loss responsibilities. During his tenure, he led digital engineering initiatives for Fortune 500 companies across sectors including telecommunications, media, technology, retail, payments, and education technology. He also played a key role in building and scaling global capability centers in India for multinational enterprises. Vikram holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, along with a postgraduate qualification in Computer Software Engineering.
