Getzner Werkstoffe has inaugurated a new production facility in Baramati, marking a significant step in the company’s international growth strategy and strengthening its footprint in the Indian rail and transit sector. The move enhances local manufacturing capabilities, reduces supply timelines, and brings the company closer to its customer base in one of its key growth markets.

Spanning 4,189 square meters, the new plant is designed to manufacture vibration isolation solutions tailored for rail infrastructure projects across India. The development aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India initiative, which encourages local manufacturing and industrial expansion.

Getzner has maintained a presence in India for over a decade, having established its subsidiary in Pune in 2009. The Baramati facility builds on this foundation by enabling local production of rail components, allowing the company to respond faster to project requirements and deliver solutions more efficiently.

The company’s technologies are already contributing to major infrastructure developments, including the Agra Metro. In this project, Getzner’s mass-spring systems are used to minimize vibrations and reduce structure-borne noise along key routes, including areas near the Taj Mahal. With local manufacturing now in place, the company aims to further strengthen its role in similar large-scale urban mobility projects.

The facility was formally inaugurated in the presence of senior leadership and dignitaries, including CEO Jürgen Rainalter, CTO Roger Höfle, Sunetra Ajit Pawar, and Robert Zischg, alongside representatives from industry and government. The Baramati plant represents Getzner’s second production site in Asia, complementing its existing facility in Kunshan.

This expansion reinforces the company’s commitment to building a strong regional presence while continuing to invest in its headquarters in Vorarlberg, where additional capacity is being developed in Nüziders. With operations spanning five continents, Getzner continues to focus on proximity to customers as a core element of its strategy, combining global expertise with localized production to support infrastructure development and sustainable mobility solutions worldwide.
