Hindustan Zinc Limited has announced its production results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year ended March 31, 2026, achieving record-breaking output across key operational metrics. The company reported its highest-ever quarterly mined metal production at 315 kilotonnes (kt) in the fourth quarter, driven by increased ore production and improved grades. Refined metal production also reached a new quarterly high of 282 kt, supported by capacity enhancements from debottlenecking initiatives at the Chanderiya and Dariba facilities, along with improved operational efficiency and plant availability.
Silver production for the quarter stood at 176 metric tonnes, reflecting an 11% increase compared to the previous quarter, in line with higher lead output. Wind power generation totaled 56 million units (MU), consistent with seasonal wind conditions.
For the full fiscal year FY26, Hindustan Zinc achieved its highest-ever mined metal production of 1,114 kt. Refined zinc production reached 851 kt, marking a 3% year-on-year increase, supported by the commissioning of debottlenecking projects, a 160 kt per annum roaster, and sustained pyro operations in zinc-lead mode.
Refined lead production for the year totaled 197 kt, reflecting a decline of 13% year-on-year, primarily due to lower plant availability and operational adjustments compared to the previous period. Silver production stood at 627 metric tonnes, aligned with lead output and variations in mine sequencing. Renewable energy generation also showed growth, with wind power output reaching 372 MU, a 7% increase year-on-year.
A Vedanta Group company, Hindustan Zinc is the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and ranks among the top five silver producers globally. The company supplies to over 40 countries and holds a dominant share of India’s primary zinc market.
Hindustan Zinc continues to strengthen its position as a leader in sustainable mining and metals production. It has been recognized by the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2025 as the most sustainable company in its category for the third consecutive year. The company is also a member of the International Council on Mining & Metals (ICMM) and has introduced EcoZen, a low-carbon zinc brand produced using renewable energy. With a strong focus on operational excellence, sustainability, and innovation, Hindustan Zinc remains a key contributor to the global supply of critical materials essential for the energy transition.
