Goodluck Defence & Aerospace Limited, a subsidiary of Goodluck India Limited, has commenced its first overseas dispatch of 155 mm heavy calibre empty shells from its manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh. The shipment marks an important milestone in the company’s expansion into international defence markets and represents its entry into the global defence manufacturing supply chain.

The first batch of shells has been dispatched against a USD 6 million export order, reflecting the company’s growing capabilities in precision defence manufacturing. The export shipment follows a structured development process undertaken by the company over the past several months. The initiative began with the establishment of a dedicated manufacturing facility designed specifically for producing 155 mm heavy calibre empty artillery shells.

Following the completion of the manufacturing infrastructure, the company implemented the required operational systems and quality assurance processes necessary for participation in the defence manufacturing sector. Subsequently, the facility underwent technical validation procedures and obtained the necessary manufacturer approvals required to meet international defence manufacturing standards.

Once these approvals were secured, the company successfully obtained its first export order and completed the regulatory and internal clearance processes required for executing the shipment. The first batch of shells was formally flagged off by Mahesh Chandra Garg, Chairman and Managing Director of Goodluck India Limited, marking the beginning of the company’s overseas supply operations in the defence sector. The export dispatch highlights GoodluckDefence’s capabilities in manufacturing high-precision defence components and its ability to meet stringent global standards required by international defence customers.

Commenting on the development, Mahesh Chandra Garg said the company has pursued a systematic approach to expanding its defence manufacturing operations. He explained that the process began with establishing the manufacturing facility, followed by obtaining necessary certifications and approvals to build operational credibility. The company then secured its first export order and progressed through the required regulatory steps before initiating production and dispatch. ccording to Mr Garg, the overseas shipment represents a transition from building production capabilities to actively participating in global defence supply networks.
