Xbattery has introduced its flagship XB-5K, a 5kWh scalable energy storage system designed for homes and small offices. Developed on the company’s proprietary BharatBMS platform, the launch marks a significant step toward strengthening India’s domestic capabilities in advanced battery management and reducing reliance on imported systems.

The BharatBMS architecture is positioned as India’s first indigenously developed universal high-voltage battery management system, aimed at addressing the country’s continued dependence on overseas BMS imports, particularly from China, which accounts for a substantial share of the global export market. By building core technology locally, Xbattery seeks to enhance service responsiveness, cost efficiency, and supply chain resilience.

Weighing 37 kilograms, the XB-5K delivers up to 5kWh of backup power, capable of supporting household electronics and appliances, including air conditioners, for extended durations of up to 24 hours depending on load conditions. Designed as a plug-and-play system, it functions similarly to a high-capacity home powerbank, integrating advanced data analytics for efficient power management. The unit uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells engineered for long operational life, thermal stability, and safe daily use.

India’s growing energy demand continues to outpace infrastructure upgrades, with periodic outages still affecting residential and commercial productivity. Satish Reddy, Co-founder and CEO of Xbattery, stated that reliable and affordable energy storage is essential for sustaining economic growth. He emphasised that developing a domestic ecosystem will not only reduce import dependence but also unlock export opportunities while supporting national productivity.

BharatBMS equips the XB-5K with artificial intelligence and machine learning-driven features, including predictive outage response modes, real-time state-of-charge monitoring, adaptive cell balancing, and advanced thermal management. These capabilities are designed to extend battery lifespan by up to 15 percent while lowering lifecycle costs through localised manufacturing and service support.

Sonu Mishra, Co-founder and CTO, noted that the system has been engineered with real-time analytics, remote diagnostics, and automatic software upgrades, enabling adaptability across multiple use cases — from residential installations to electric vehicles and industrial applications.

Founded in 2024, Xbattery focuses on renewable energy storage solutions for residential, commercial, EV, and grid segments. The company recently secured USD 2.3 million in seed funding to expand research, design, and manufacturing operations as it positions itself to address India’s rapidly expanding energy storage market.
