Zelio E-Mobility has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Cuttack, marking a major step in its expansion across eastern India. The move follows strong demand and rising customer traction in Odisha and West Bengal, which have emerged as high-growth markets for the electric two- and three-wheeler maker.
The new plant brings production closer to the company’s eastern customer base, significantly reducing delivery timelines that previously extended up to a week when vehicles were dispatched from its Hisar facility in Haryana. The regional hub is expected to lower logistics costs, streamline supply chains, and enhance dealer support across eastern and southern India.
With the commissioning of the Odisha unit, Zelio’s total installed production capacity has increased from 72,000 units per annum to 1,80,000 units per annum. The company’s existing facility at Ladwa, Hisar, has also undergone capacity enhancement—from 72,000 units to 1,20,000 units annually—through process improvements, including the installation of an extended conveyor system and additional equipment. The Cuttack plant contributes an added capacity of 60,000 units per annum and will focus exclusively on electric two-wheelers.
Developed with an investment of under ₹3 crore, the facility is operational and expected to contribute to revenues immediately. The company anticipates that by FY26–FY27, the Odisha plant will account for a substantial share of overall revenues, supported by accelerating EV adoption in eastern and southern markets.
Discussions are underway regarding plant layout optimisation, advanced machinery integration, and adoption of environmentally responsible systems. Engagements with the Odisha government for potential incentives and policy support are ongoing. The facility is projected to generate employment for approximately 60 to 100 individuals across production and operations, contributing to local economic growth.
Commenting on the development, Kunal Arya, Managing Director, Zelio E-Mobility, said the new unit strengthens the company’s ability to serve riders and dealers with faster deliveries, improved service support, and efficient inventory management.
The announcement follows a strong H1 FY26 performance, with consolidated revenue of ₹134.78 crore and net profit of ₹11.87 crore. Earlier this year, Zelio completed an SME IPO of ₹78.34 crore, with ₹36 crore of unutilised proceeds earmarked for capacity expansion and new facilities.
