Rockwell Automation, Inc today reported financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2026, delivering double-digit revenue growth and expanded operating margins compared to the prior year. First quarter sales totaled $2.105 billion, representing a 12 percent increase from $1.881 billion in the same period last year. Organic sales grew 10 percent, with currency translation contributing an additional 2 percent.

Income before income taxes increased to $342 million, compared to $213 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2025. Pre-tax margin improved to 16.2 percent from 11.3 percent a year earlier. Total segment operating earnings rose 36 percent to $435 million, while segment operating margin expanded to 20.7 percent from 17.1 percent in the prior year period. The improvement reflects higher sales volume, favorable pricing relative to costs, productivity gains, and mix benefits, partially offset by higher compensation expenses.

Net income attributable to Rockwell Automation was $305 million, or $2.69 per share, compared to $184 million, or $1.61 per share, in the prior year. Adjusted earnings per share increased 49 percent to $2.75. The effective tax rate for the quarter was 11.7 percent, compared to 16.4 percent in the prior year.

Operating cash flow for the quarter totaled $234 million, while free cash flow was $170 million. The year-over-year decline in cash flow primarily reflects incentive compensation payouts tied to fiscal 2025 performance and higher working capital requirements.

Segment performance included 18 percent sales growth in Intelligent Devices, 19 percent growth in Software & Control, and improved operating margins in Lifecycle Services despite lower sales. During the quarter, the company repurchased approximately 0.4 million shares for $154 million. As of December 31, 2025, $773 million remained available under its existing share repurchase authorization.
