LogiMAT held in Mumbai, the Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC) drew significant attention with the showcase of its innovative VR-enabled Forklift Simulator, a 360-degree virtual reality training solution designed to transform the way warehouse operators are trained in India.
Developed under the guidance of Mr. Vishva, the VR simulator offers a real-time, immersive forklift operating experience, allowing users to feel as though they are driving an actual forklift—without the risks associated with live equipment training. Inspired by the simulation experience used in Formula 1 racing, the team recreated a highly realistic virtual environment where trainees can operate a forklift in a warehouse setting with 360-degree visibility and live-response controls.
The concept is simple yet powerful: learn, practice, and make mistakes—without risking lives or damaging assets.
Forklift operations are a critical part of warehouse and logistics activities, but they also involve safety risks, equipment costs, and training challenges. The VR-enabled forklift simulator addresses these issues by creating a safe, cost-effective, and engaging training environment. Trainees can experience real-time movement, navigation, lifting, stacking, and maneuvering—just like in a physical warehouse.
One of the key highlights of this innovation is its cost-efficient development model. Instead of building expensive proprietary hardware from scratch, LSC utilized readily available hardware components from the market, combining them with their self-developed, customized software platform. The result is a scalable and affordable training solution that can be deployed across skill centers and institutions without heavy capital investment.
The simulator is not just about technical training—it also introduces an element of engagement. By incorporating gaming-style realism similar to F1 simulators, the platform makes learning interactive and enjoyable. This approach increases retention, improves confidence, and ensures better preparedness among forklift operators before they enter live warehouse environments.
LSC’s participation at LogiMAT Mumbai was particularly significant as the exhibition serves as a premier platform for intralogistics and warehouse automation. With increasing automation and modernization across warehouses in India, the demand for skilled and safety-trained operators is growing rapidly. The VR forklift simulator aligns perfectly with this industry shift toward smarter, technology-driven training solutions.
The Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC) is a not-for-profit organization registered under Section 8 of the Indian Companies Act, 2013. It was established by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). LSC’s core objective is to ensure the availability of skill-trained human resources at the entry level and to upskill the existing logistics workforce.
As an approved awarding body under NCVET, LSC works closely with industry players, government agencies, training providers, and academic institutions to identify skill gaps within the logistics sector and design structured training programs to address those needs.
The organization represents 12 key subsectors, including Warehousing, Land Transportation, Cold Chain Solutions, Courier & Express, E-Commerce, Port and ICD operations, Air Cargo Handling, Freight Forwarding & Customs, Marine Services, Supply Chain Solutions, Liquid Logistics, and Rail Logistics. It is governed by a council comprising eminent industry leaders representing these subsectors.
LSC’s objectives include occupational mapping, development of industry standards, curriculum design, third-party assessment, certification, and facilitating end-to-end workforce solutions—from mobilization and training to placement and career progression.

By introducing the VR-enabled forklift simulator at LogiMAT 2026, LSC demonstrated how skill development can evolve alongside technology. The innovation marks a significant step toward building a safer, smarter, and future-ready logistics workforce in India. As warehouses continue to modernize, solutions like LSC’s VR simulator could very well redefine how operators are trained—making safety, efficiency, and engagement central to the learning process.
