Tata Technologies has announced that its battery intelligence platform, WATTSync, is fully prepared to support India’s upcoming Battery Aadhaar digital identity and traceability framework, while remaining aligned with the European Uhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iDcXYYlHZsnion’s Battery Regulation (EU BR 2023/1542). As India advances toward a QR-code-based national system for battery identification and lifecycle tracking, WATTSync is positioned to meet regulatory, sustainability, and compliance requirements across domestic and global markets.
The platform supports India’s mandated 21-character Battery Pack Aadhaar Number, enabling manufacturers and ecosystem participants to generate, manage, and integrate unique battery identifiers across manufacturing, operations, and end-of-life stages. Its QR-enabled digital identity engine provides secure access to both static and dynamic battery data, supporting authentication, verification, and interoperability with global battery passport systems.
WATTSync’s data architecture accommodates the full range of prescribed Battery Aadhaar fields, including manufacturer details, battery specifications, material composition, chemistry, and carbon footprint metrics. Designed for scalability, the platform integrates directly with Battery Management Systems to capture dynamic performance data such as state of health, charge-discharge cycles, thermal events, and operational parameters. Its cloud-ready, microservices-based design enables real-time analytics and high-volume data processing in line with Indian and European reporting expectations.
To support traceability and oversight, WATTSync enables secure, API-driven data exchange with government-authorised digital infrastructure and includes a Battery Lifecycle Manager to track batteries from production through reuse, recycling, and disposal. Role-based access controls ensure secure and structured data visibility for manufacturers, suppliers, operators, recyclers, regulators, and auditors. With AI-enabled analytics for safety monitoring, lifecycle prediction, and performance risk assessment, the platform supports India’s circular economy objectives and strengthens transparent, fraud-resistant battery supply chains under schemes such as ACC-PLI.
