HPE (NYSE: HPE) today announced an expansion of its retail-focused technology portfolio designed to help retailers strengthen network reliability, improve security, and gain clearer visibility into their operations. The expanded offerings support retailers in managing transactions, data, and customer interactions across the entire retail environment, from corporate offices and distribution centers to in-store systems and curbside fulfillment.
At NRF 2026: Retail’s Big Show, HPE is highlighting updated retail solutions that combine HPE Aruba Networking CX switching and Mist AIOps at the branch edge with the latest HPE Nonstop systems at the core. Together, these technologies demonstrate how stable, secure connectivity supports retail modernization by enabling consistent performance across stores while reducing operational risk. Integrated analytics and assurance tools help retailers maintain service levels as they introduce new in-store capabilities and digital customer experiences.
Built for environments where downtime can have immediate business impact, the HPE Nonstop Compute NS9 X5 and NS5 X5 systems are designed to keep transactions processing and data accessible during peak shopping periods. In parallel, new 8-port models in the HPE Aruba Networking CX 6000 Switch Series provide compact, silent options for deployment at checkout counters, kiosks, and in overhead or space-constrained locations, allowing retailers to expand network coverage without disruption.
“In retail, a failed transaction can quickly turn into lost revenue or customer dissatisfaction,” said Sujai Hajela, executive vice president and general manager, Campus & Branch, HPE. “By combining dependable edge connectivity, automated network operations, and fault-tolerant compute, HPE is helping retailers maintain continuity while preparing for future demands. This integrated approach enables retailers to operate at scale with confidence and deliver consistent performance across every customer interaction.”
HPE continues to strengthen retail operations by improving visibility at the store edge, monitoring user experience, and expanding access to operational insights. Retail analytics delivered through the Mist AIOps platform are being enhanced through the integration of the Marvis virtual network assistant with HPE Juniper Networking Premium Analytics. This integration brings together location data, network performance metrics, and engagement and occupancy insights within Marvis’ natural-language interface. As a result, IT teams and business leaders can identify issues earlier, respond more quickly, and make informed decisions that improve store operations and customer engagement.
At the network edge, the HPE Aruba Networking CX 6000 Switch Series now includes new 8-port Power over Ethernet and non-PoE options that securely connect point-of-sale systems, Internet of Things devices, cameras, sensors, and employee endpoints. Compared with older platforms, the new switches provide higher PoE capacity to support modern retail equipment such as wireless access points and video devices. Built-in telemetry, IoT visibility, and system monitoring help reduce connectivity issues, support automated operations, and provide more accurate insight into energy consumption.
To help retailers identify problems before they affect customers or staff, HPE Aruba Networking User Experience Insight, available through HPE Aruba Networking Central, acts as an early warning system for network changes and upgrades. With support for Wi-Fi 7, sensors continuously test network performance and detect issues before they impact users. When used alongside software agents, the solution provides a detailed view of user activity and network behavior, helping IT teams establish performance baselines, track trends, and plan for growth.
HPE Nonstop Compute continues to provide fault-tolerant infrastructure for backend payment processing, inventory systems, and other essential retail applications. The platform is designed to keep applications running during hardware failures or network interruptions, reducing downtime and protecting revenue during high-demand periods.
New enhancements to the Nonstop portfolio increase performance and scalability, supporting distributed scaling to as many as 4,000 nodes through multi-generation clustering and delivering up to 15 percent higher performance compared with previous generations, based on internal benchmarks. Transparent Data Encryption strengthens protection for sensitive customer data and supports compliance with evolving data protection requirements.
Both HPE Nonstop Compute and HPE Aruba Networking CX switching are available through the HPE GreenLake platform, giving retailers the option to consume these technologies as services through a flexible, subscription-based model aligned with business needs.
By connecting data and systems across the edge and core, HPE is providing retailers with a stable foundation for digital growth. HPE Aruba Networking CX supports expansion to new stores and devices while simplifying network operations, and enhanced HPE Nonstop systems provide the capacity required for real-time analytics and high-volume omnichannel services without sacrificing availability.
HPE (NYSE: HPE) delivers enterprise technology that helps organizations operate efficiently, adapt to change, and grow. By bringing together AI, cloud, and networking, HPE supports customers across industries in improving performance, gaining insight from data, and achieving measurable results.
