JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, one of India’s leading tyre manufacturers, has announced the successful completion of the merger of Cavendish Industries Ltd., its subsidiary, into JK Tyre& Industries Ltd Cavendish was acquired by JK Tyre in 2016 from Kesoram Industries Ltd and had manufacturing capabilities spanning truck and bus radial tyres, truck and bus bias tyres, and two- and three-wheeler tyres.
At the time of acquisition, Cavendish was operating at approximately 30 percent of its installed capacity. Following the acquisition, JK Tyre provided comprehensive managerial, financial, and technical support, enabling a rapid and effective turnaround. Through systematic improvements and streamlining of manufacturing processes, capacity utilisation at Cavendish rose to nearly 95 percent. In addition, capacity expansion at the Laksar facility significantly enhanced its contribution to JK Tyre’s overall operations.
The merger is expected to deliver meaningful value by unlocking operational synergies, achieving economies of scale, strengthening the product portfolio, and expanding market reach through a unified distribution network. This development aligns with JK Tyre’s long-term growth strategy, which balances organic expansion with strategic acquisitions. The integration of Cavendish represents the company’s third major turnaround, following the successful transformations of Vikrant Tyres in 1997–98 and JK Tornel in Mexico in 2008, alongside two greenfield manufacturing initiatives.
JK Tyre & Industries, part of the JK Organisation, is among the top 20 tyre manufacturers globally, with 11 manufacturing facilities, including 9 in India and 2 in Mexico, producing around 35 million tyres annually.
