Kirloskar Group, one of India’s most respected and longstanding engineering houses, has introduced its new initiative, “Made in Kirloskar,” celebrating the power of engineering and the ingenuity of those who build, innovate, and shape the world. The initiative debuts with a film that traces the profound influence of engineering across eras, spotlighting the visionaries and problem-solvers whose creations have powered progress.
The film underscores a simple yet powerful truth: engineering matters. It drives development, fuels national growth, and forms the backbone of modern life—an important message as India accelerates its journey toward becoming a global economic powerhouse.
More than a tribute, “Made in Kirloskar” signals the beginning of a wider set of programs the Group will roll out over the coming year, in collaboration with industry partners, government bodies, and the Pune community. Sharing his thoughts on the launch, Atul Kirloskar, Chairman of Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd and Kirloskar Industries Ltd, said that the Group’s founder believed innovation is meaningful only when it translates into creation, a conviction that has guided more than 135 years of progress.
Rahul Kirloskar, Chairman of Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Ltd and Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Ltd, emphasized the Group’s legacy of indigenous innovation, noting that a Kirloskar product is purchased every 20 seconds somewhere in the world—fueling farms, industries, cities, and households.
For over a century, Kirloskar companies have been instrumental in India’s industrial advancement, introducing landmark innovations such as the iron plough, centrifugal pump, diesel engine, lathe, electric motor, and air compressors. Rooted in Pune, the Group helped transform the city into a thriving manufacturing and engineering hub long before “Make in India” became a national movement. The new initiative celebrates this heritage of building, problem-solving, and nation-shaping—honoring engineers while reaffirming the Group’s commitment to empowering future generations of makers.
