TVS Motor Company (TVSM), a global leader in two- and three-wheeler manufacturing, strengthened its focus on road safety and community responsibility by organizing a helmet distribution drive for school children in Himachal Pradesh. As part of the ongoing ‘Protect Little Riders’ campaign under the #TVSRide4Safety initiative, 100 helmets were handed out to students of Delhi Public School (DPS), Shimla.
The event saw the presence of Shri Arjit Singh Thakur (IPS), Superintendent of Police, Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Response Force, and Shri Anil Walia, a prominent education sector figure, alongside senior TVS Motor leaders, including Mr. Vimal Sumbly, Head of Business – Premium, and Mr. R. Babu, Senior Vice President – R&D. Their participation highlighted a shared commitment to promoting road safety and safety education among the youth.
The initiative aims to instill responsible habits and awareness of personal safety in young students, encouraging them to become cautious and mindful road users. By educating children on wearing helmets and adopting safe road practices, TVS Motor reinforces the belief that safety education should begin early to prevent accidents and foster a culture of responsibility.
Vimal Sumbly, Head of Business – Premium, TVS Motor Company, commented, “Raising awareness is the first step toward safer roads. Through this program, we hope to nurture a generation that values protection, responsibility, and empathy while on the road. Our philosophy of ‘progress with purpose’ drives us to engage with communities in meaningful ways and turn that purpose into action.”
Arjit Singh Thakur (IPS) added, “TVS Motor Company’s initiative is highly commendable. Education and preparedness start at a young age, and teaching children about road safety and helmet use helps cultivate a generation that is cautious and responsible. Efforts like this are crucial in reducing accidents and embedding safety culture in communities.”
Launched in 2024, the ‘Protect Little Riders’ campaign addresses child safety on two-wheelers and encourages the adoption of helmets for young passengers. Since its inception, the initiative has expanded through community outreach and educational programs aimed at promoting road safety as a daily practice.
In 2023, TVS Motor also collaborated with KidZania to establish a Road Safety Experience Zone, providing children with an interactive environment to learn safe riding habits, responsibility, and discipline in traffic. The helmet distribution in Shimla marks another milestone in TVS Motor Company’s ongoing community engagement efforts, reflecting its commitment to building safer, more aware, and responsible communities.
