Zen Technologies Ltd has secured a defence contract valued at approximately ₹37 crore from the Indian Ministry of Defence to supply high-performance anti-drone systems equipped with hard-kill capabilities. This order marks a key development in Zen’s collaboration with India’s armed forces and reinforces its standing as a major player in the counter-drone technology space. The systems are expected to be delivered within a year.
Designed to detect, track, and neutralize unmanned aerial threats, Zen’s anti-drone solutions combine advanced sensors, electronic warfare tools, and kinetic interceptors. The inclusion of hard-kill features—capable of physically disabling drones—provides a decisive edge in defending high-risk zones, including border areas and sensitive installations.
Commenting on the order, Zen Technologies Chairman and Managing Director, Ashok Atluri, said, “We deeply value this opportunity to support national security with indigenous solutions. This contract reflects the armed forces’ confidence in our technology and highlights the growing need for reliable systems to counter drone-based threats.”
Atluri emphasized the growing use of drones for surveillance, illicit transport, and irregular warfare tactics, making strong countermeasures an essential part of modern defence. He noted that Zen’s continued investment in local R&D and innovation aligns with India’s push toward self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
