Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) today announced the expansion of its long-standing strategic partnership with Google Cloud to strengthen India’s digital and AI ecosystem. The collaboration aims to deliver secure, high-performance AI infrastructure, powered by renewable energy and supported by Jio’s advanced digital network.
As part of the initiative, Reliance will design, build, and operate a state-of-the-art cloud facility and network infrastructure at Jamnagar. Fully compliant with Google Cloud’s global standards, the new cloud region will support advanced AI workloads and enable Reliance’s businesses to accelerate innovation, improve efficiency, and modernize operations. The infrastructure will also serve enterprises, SMBs, startups, developers, and public sector organizations across India, leveraging the scale and reliability of Jio’s nationwide connectivity.
Google Cloud will deploy its AI hypercomputer and integrated AI stack—including generative AI models, development platforms, and AI-powered applications—at the Jamnagar facility. The site will be powered by Reliance’s renewable energy initiatives, ensuring sustainable operations at hyperscale. Reliance Jio will further strengthen connectivity by linking Jamnagar with key metros such as Mumbai and Delhi through high-capacity fiber networks.
Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries Limited, said “This partnership with Google Cloud marks a new chapter in India’s technology journey. By bringing advanced AI capabilities to Jamnagar, supported by Reliance’s infrastructure, green energy, and digital network, we are laying the foundation for India to emerge as a global leader in AI. Just as Jio and Google democratized internet access, we will now democratize intelligence for every Indian.”
Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google and Alphabet, stated “Our collaboration with Reliance and Jio has played a pivotal role in expanding affordable internet access in India. Building on this foundation, we are now working together to power the country’s next leap with AI. This is the beginning of a transformative journey, and we look forward to shaping India’s AI future together.”
