Samisan Tech Pvt Ltd is transforming India’s engineering software sector with its expertise in additive manufacturing and 3D inspection. Co-founder and CEO Mohit Kumar, along with his partner Jeet, is leading Samisan Tech in advancing indigenous CAD CAM solutions, strengthening India’s independence in engineering software.

Samisan Tech is the force behind Mira3D, a brand dedicated to developing software solutions for 3D printing and 3D inspection. The company’s software improves the entire 3D printing process—from repairing, supporting, packing, slicing, and preparing CAD models for additive manufacturing. Additionally, Samisan’s software enables 3D scanning-based inspection, ensuring high precision by comparing scanned parts with CAD models.

Beyond software, Samisan Tech also specializes in design optimization services. With a deep understanding of topology optimization and lightweighting, they help industries such as aerospace, automotive, and steel optimize component performance while reducing material costs. This approach enhances efficiency, offering better heat loss, structural hardness, and cost-effectiveness.

Building a Vision for 3D Printing and Inspection Software

Mr Mohit and Jeet’s journey into entrepreneurship is established in a strong technical foundation. Both are alumni of BITS Pilani, with Mr Mohit graduating in 2015 and Jeet in 2017. Mohit entered the 3D printing industry immediately after graduation, starting a company that manufactured 3D printers for jewelry and dental applications. Meanwhile, Jeet pursued his PhD in Applied Mathematics at École Polytechnique, France, specializing in topology optimization—a key component in additive manufacturing.

In 2022, after Jeet’s return to India, the duo planned Samisan Tech as a introducing force in engineering software development for additive manufacturing. Knowing the absence of an Indian company in this domain, they set out to create India’s first homegrown CAD CAM solution.

Samisan Tech began its journey with a strong focus on research and development, dedicating its initial years to building proprietary software. Despite the high costs associated with software development in India, the company successfully launched Mira3D in April 2023. The jewelry industry became the company’s first major market, using Mohit’s expertise in the sector. With 98% of jewelry production depending on 3D printing, Samisan Tech quickly gained traction. Beyond jewelry, the company has now expanded into automotive, steel, and aerospace sectors.

Today, Samisan Tech is not only serving the Indian market but is also expanding globally. The company has successfully established a distributor in Switzerland and has already sold its software in Turkey and the Middle East. Their next goal is to Cthe U.S. market, starting with their participation in Rapid TCT 2025, a key industry exhibition in the U.S. Participation in exhibitions has played a crucial role in the company’s expansion. Samisan Tech recently showcased its solutions at IMTEX 2024, a leading industrial trade fair in India. The event helped them secure valuable leads in automotive and aerospace, positioning them for sustained growth over the next six months.

The company remains committed to ‘Make in India’, with its entire development team based in Mumbai, and remote engineers contributing from Delhi and Bangalore. Their headquarters is located in Goregaon, Mumbai, a strategic location close to India’s major industrial hubs. The name Samisan originates from Samikaran Sansar, a Sanskrit phrase meaning ‘World of Equations’. The name reflects the company’s deep-rooted connection to mathematical modeling and engineering problem-solving. Though it sounds Japanese, the name was carefully chosen to be both uniquely Indian and globally known.

Planning for the future, Samisan Tech aims to further enhance its design optimization solutions and combine them within its software suite, allowing users to easily transition from redesigning a component to preparing it for 3D printing.

With a growing international presence and increasing industry recognition, Samisan Tech is well on its way to becoming a global leader in CAD CAM solutions for additive manufacturing and inspection. As India’s first dedicated software provider in this domain, the company is set to reshape the global landscape of 3D printing and precision engineering.
