Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has secured two domestic and international renewable energy orders with a combined value of more than ₹985 crore, including taxes. The company has received a 534.3 MWp order in Rajasthan from a leading independent power producer (IPP) in India. It has also secured orders for two Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects with a combined capacity of 616 MWh in South Africa from a leading renewable energy project developer based in the Middle East.

The Rajasthan order is from a new customer and covers the Balance of System (BOS) package for the project. The South African order is a turnkey EPC package for two BESS projects and comes from an existing customer of SWREL. The South African project is the company’s second-largest utility-scale BESS project, adding to its growing portfolio in energy storage. The projects are part of SWREL’s efforts to expand its presence across renewable energy and energy storage markets. The Rajasthan project is expected to help avoid approximately 0.80 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions after commissioning, based on the project’s estimated impact.

Commenting on the orders, Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, said, “We are delighted to have received two prestigious orders each in Rajasthan and South Africa. Together, these orders reinforce the momentum in our business and the confidence customers place in our capabilities. They also demonstrate the strength of our customer relationships, built on consistent project execution, domain expertise and the skilled manpower we have developed over the years.”

The new orders strengthen SWREL’s project pipeline across India and international markets. The company provides engineering, procurement and construction services for utility-scale solar, floating solar, hybrid projects, energy storage and wind projects. SWREL currently has a total renewable energy portfolio of more than 28.7 GWp, including projects that have been commissioned and those under construction. The company also manages an operations and maintenance portfolio of 18.3 GWp of solar power projects, including projects developed by third parties.
