Jindal Stainless has received two recognitions at the CII National Award for Excellence in Energy Management 2026, with its Jajpur and Hisar manufacturing units being recognised for energy efficiency, process innovation and resource management. The Jajpur unit received the ‘Excellent Energy Efficient Organization’ Award, while the Hisar unit was recognised with the ‘Excellent Energy-Efficient Unit’ Award.
The awards were presented at a ceremony held in Hyderabad from September 16 to 18, 2026. Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the awards recognise organisations for their work in energy management, conservation, innovation and sustainable industrial practices.
Commenting on the recognition, Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, said, “At Jindal Stainless, sustainability and operational excellence go hand in hand. The recognition of our Jajpur and Hisar units at the CII National Awards reflects the commitment of our teams to responsible manufacturing, continuous innovation, and prudent resource utilisation.” “As we advance our decarbonisation journey, energy efficiency will remain a critical pillar of our efforts to build a more sustainable future,” he added.
The Jajpur unit was recognised for measures aimed at optimising energy consumption, adopting resource-efficient technologies, improving process efficiency and strengthening environmentally responsible operations. These initiatives are intended to improve operational performance while supporting the company’s decarbonisation and sustainability objectives.
At the Hisar unit, the evaluation included a presentation of the plant’s energy management case study before a jury panel. The presentation covered the unit’s approach to energy efficiency through technology adoption, renewable energy integration, waste heat recovery, fuel substitution, process optimisation and employee-led energy conservation initiatives.
Jindal Stainless said these measures are helping support energy conservation, greenhouse gas emission reduction, productivity improvement and better resource utilisation across its operations. The company has been investing in energy-efficient technologies, clean energy and process improvements as part of its wider manufacturing and decarbonisation strategy. The dual recognition highlights the role of energy management in its manufacturing operations.
Jindal Stainless reported an annual turnover of ₹42,955 crore (US$4.86 billion) in FY26 and has an annual melt capacity of 4.2 million tonnes. As of March 2026, the company operated 16 stainless steel manufacturing and processing facilities in India and overseas, including facilities in Spain and Indonesia, with a presence across 12 countries. In India, the company has 10 sales offices and six service centres. Its product portfolio includes stainless steel slabs, blooms, coils, plates, sheets, precision strips, wire rods, rebars, blade steel and coin blanks.
Founded in 1970, Jindal Stainless uses integrated operations to support manufacturing efficiency and cost competitiveness. Its production includes the use of electric arc furnace technology, which enables the use of recycled scrap and can reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared with conventional production routes. The company said energy efficiency, resource optimisation and process improvement will remain part of its efforts to improve manufacturing performance and support its sustainability and decarbonisation objectives.
