BMW India has launched the new BMW 7 Series range in India, offering customers a choice of petrol and all-electric powertrains. The range includes the BMW 740, BMW i7 50 xDrive and the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, which is the most powerful BMW 7 Series model to date. The new 7 Series was unveiled by actor Ranveer Singh, who has also been introduced as Brand Voice for BMW India. The collaboration was announced as part of the launch of the new flagship sedan.
Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said, “The new BMW 7 Series is more than our flagship sedan – it is our ultimate statement of modern luxury. It moves the leaders, changemakers and visionaries who are shaping tomorrow. Every detail has been crafted around one idea: those who have reached the pinnacle deserve an experience to match.”
He added, “The new BMW i7 M70 xDrive is the most powerful 7 Series ever created – where M performance meets first-class luxury, without compromise. It brings together exhilarating electric performance and the refinement expected from the pinnacle of the BMW portfolio.”
The new BMW 7 Series combines the established design of the luxury sedan with elements of BMW’s newer design language. The exterior features the BMW Iconic Glow Kidney Grille, BMW Crystal Headlights with Swarovski diamond-cut glass elements and Adaptive LED Headlights with matrix high beam. The headlights offer a range of up to 600 metres.
The M Sport package adds an M aerodynamics package, model-specific bumpers, large air intakes, air curtains, rear diffuser, M-specific side skirts, 20-inch alloy wheels and M Sport brakes. The BMW i7 M70 xDrive receives additional M-specific design elements, including a darker illuminated kidney grille, smoke-black crystals in the headlights, black exterior details, 21-inch M aerodynamic wheels and M Sport brakes with black high-gloss callipers.
Inside, the new 7 Series features BMW Panoramic iDrive with BMW Operating System X, BMW Panoramic Vision, a 17.9-inch Central Display and a 14.6-inch BMW Passenger Screen. A BMW 3D Head-Up Display is also part of the integrated display and operating system.
Rear-seat features include a 31.3-inch 8K BMW Theatre Screen, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos, Executive Lounge seating and a Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof. The BMW 740 uses a three-litre six-cylinder petrol engine producing 400 hp and 540 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
