Axalta, a global coatings company, is continuing its support for education and the development of young girls in India through its longstanding partnership with the Pardada Pardadi Educational Society (PPES). This year, Axalta’s support will benefit 140 girls in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh.

Axalta has been associated with PPES for nearly two decades. The nonprofit organisation works to improve the lives of underprivileged girls through education and community-based programmes aimed at addressing poverty and gender inequality.

The company’s contribution will help provide sponsored students with access to education and various support services that enable them to continue their studies and prepare for independent careers. The programme covers students from kindergarten through college and focuses on both academic education and overall development.

“At Axalta, we believe education, particularly STEM education, is one of the most powerful drivers of social mobility and gender equality. Through our financial support of 140 girls at PPES, we are investing in the next generation of leaders, innovators, and professionals. We are proud to continue our longstanding partnership with PPES and support its mission of empowering girls through education,” said Dr Prameela Susarla, Vice President and Managing Director, Axalta India.

The support provided through the PPES programme extends beyond regular classroom education. Sponsored students receive school education, books, uniforms, meals and transportation, along with access to healthcare and sports activities. The programme also includes STEM learning, leadership development and personality-building initiatives.

These programmes are designed to help girls develop academic knowledge, practical skills and confidence while preparing them for higher education and employment. By supporting students through different stages of their education, the initiative aims to help them build sustainable careers and achieve economic independence. “We are deeply grateful to Axalta for its unwavering support. Sponsoring the students is not only changing lives today but creating opportunities for future generations of girls,” said a PPES representative.

Axalta and PPES will continue their partnership to expand access to education and support opportunities for girls from underserved communities. The organisations aim to contribute to greater gender equality by helping young women gain the education, skills and confidence needed to build independent futures and contribute to their families and communities.

Pardada Pardadi Educational Society (PPES) was founded in 2000 by Virendra (Sam) Singh, former President and Managing Director of DuPont South Asia. The organisation works on rural development and the social and economic empowerment of women and girls in western Uttar Pradesh.

PPES provides free education, employment opportunities, healthcare and livelihood support to girls and women from disadvantaged communities. Its programmes are aimed at improving access to education and employment and helping beneficiaries build sustainable livelihoods.
