Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Offroad PRO in India in limited numbers. The new variant combines the iconic G-Class design with AMG performance and additional equipment designed for off-road driving. The Offroad PRO variant adds a more rugged character to the AMG G 63 through specialised suspension, traction systems, off-road equipment and exclusive styling. It is aimed at customers looking for enhanced all-terrain capability while retaining the performance and luxury associated with the AMG G 63.

A key feature is the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension, which combines active roll stabilisation with adaptive damping. The system is designed to provide greater axle articulation and maintain traction on uneven terrain, while also improving ride comfort over bumps. The AMG Active Balance Control allows drivers to adjust roll stiffness in three stages according to driving conditions.

The AMG Traction PRO system is available in the Rock and Sand drive programmes. It controls braking torque individually at each wheel and allows the driver to adjust the degree of locking across seven levels. This helps the vehicle maintain traction in challenging conditions, including deep sand.

The Offroad PRO also comes with a PROFESSIONAL roof luggage rack featuring continuous aluminium panels and a removable rear ladder. The rack provides additional space for larger luggage and expedition equipment. The variant gets exclusive 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels in matte black with diamond-turned rim flanges and 275/50 R20 tyres.

Power comes from the handcrafted 4.0-litre V8 biturbo AMG engine, producing 430 kW of power and 850 Nm of torque, with an additional 15 kW boost from the 48-volt mild-hybrid system and integrated starter generator. The AMG G 63 accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 240 kmph. The vehicle retains the distinctive G-Class silhouette and features AMG-specific design elements, including a front bumper with three vertical louvers, stainless-steel inserts and AMG branding.

Inside, the AMG G 63 features Nappa leather upholstery, configurable ambient lighting and the Burmester 3D Surround Sound System with 18 speakers and 760W output. The MBUX NTG7 infotainment system includes 12.3-inch driver and multimedia displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB-C connectivity and MBUX Augmented Reality navigation.

For off-road driving, the new Offroad Cockpit displays information such as vehicle position, compass direction, altitude, steering angle, tyre pressure and temperature, along with differential-lock status. The Transparent Hood function provides additional visibility when negotiating difficult terrain.

The AMG G 63 also comes with AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive, AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension and a range of driver assistance and safety features, including Active Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and a 360-degree camera system.
