LG Electronics India Limited (LGEIL) has entered the chest freezer category in India with its new Convertible Chest Freezer range, expanding its refrigeration portfolio to serve commercial and household storage requirements. The new range is aimed at businesses in retail, hotels, restaurants and catering (HoReCa), dairy, ice cream, pharmaceuticals and food storage, along with home users. The freezers use convertible cooling technology that allows users to switch between chilling and deep-freezing modes according to their storage requirements.

Select PRO models offer a temperature range of -31°C to +10°C and one-touch convertible operation. This enables users to change the appliance from cooling to deep-freezing mode without the need for separate equipment. The range is available in four gross capacities — 102L, 205L, 315L and 530L.

“Commercial refrigeration is an important and evolving opportunity in India, with businesses across retail, HoReCa, dairy, ice cream, pharma and food storage looking for reliable and flexible solutions to meet their growing cooling and storage needs. Our entry into the chest freezer category is a natural extension of LG Electronics Refrigeration portfolio and reflects our commitment to addressing these diverse business requirements. With this new range, we are bringing together LG Electronics focus on technology, energy efficiency, durability and ease of operation to deliver solutions that are designed around the practical needs of businesses,” said Young Min Hwang, Home Appliances Solution Sales Division Leader, LG Electronics India Limited.

The PRO series includes features such as Ultra Freeze for rapid cooling, digital temperature control and a digital temperature display on select models. LED lighting is also available on PRO models to improve visibility inside the freezer. Energy efficiency is another feature of the new range. The 315L and 530L PRO models carry BEE 5-star ratings under the 2026 rating system. The portfolio also includes 4-star and 3-star rated models, giving users options based on their energy requirements.

The freezers feature a 70mm PUF-insulated cabinet, a 75mm insulated door and a 100mm insulated mid-part. The insulation is designed to improve temperature retention and support efficient cooling. For commercial applications, the range includes a UV-protected body, flushed locks and pocket handles. Removable gaskets are provided for easier maintenance, while castor wheels with brakes allow the units to be moved and securely positioned. Premium baskets provide organised storage and LED lights support product visibility.

The portfolio comprises six models across the 102L, 205L, 315L and 530L capacities under PRO and PLUS series variants. The PLUS series offers a temperature range of -25°C to +5°C with knob control. The range is designed to cater to applications including frozen food and ice cream storage, as well as refrigeration requirements in retail, dairy, HoReCa, pharmaceutical and food-storage operations.
