Wison Engineering has secured a $4.04 billion engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from ADNOC Gas for the development of a new natural gas processing train at Habshan in Abu Dhabi. The contract covers Phase 2 of the Rich Gas Development (RGD) project and represents the largest EPC award in Wison Engineering’s history. The base contract is valued at approximately $3.9 billion, with the inclusion of a 220 kV switch station taking the total project value to around $4.04 billion.
The project will include several major gas-processing facilities and supporting infrastructure. Wison Engineering’s scope covers gas pipelines, separation and condensate stabilisation units, acid gas removal units and deep natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery units. The project will also include the construction of the 220 kV switch station.
ADNOC Gas, the gas-processing business of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), awarded the contract as part of its ongoing efforts to expand gas-processing capabilities and support the UAE’s industrial and downstream sectors. Once completed and operational, the new processing train is expected to increase ADNOC Gas’ natural gas processing capacity and provide greater flexibility across its operations. The additional capacity is also expected to support the UAE’s downstream and petrochemical industries by strengthening the availability and processing of natural gas and related products.
Wison Engineering will execute the onshore works by combining its local operations and resources in Abu Dhabi with its international supply chain. The approach is intended to support efficient project delivery while strengthening the company’s contribution to the UAE’s energy and industrial development.
The project forms part of ADNOC Gas’ broader growth strategy through 2030. The company is seeking to strengthen its position as a major gas-processing operator while supporting the UAE’s industrial development and growing demand for natural gas. For Wison Engineering, the contract marks a significant milestone in its international EPC business. The size and scope of the award underline the company’s capabilities in delivering large-scale energy infrastructure projects covering engineering, procurement, construction and integrated processing facilities.
The Habshan project will bring together multiple processing and utility systems within a major gas infrastructure development. Its combination of gas separation, condensate stabilisation, acid gas removal and NGL recovery is designed to support efficient processing of rich gas.
The award also strengthens Wison Engineering’s presence in the Middle East energy market, where demand for large-scale gas infrastructure continues to grow. With construction and project execution supported by its Abu Dhabi operations and global supply network, Wison Engineering will work to deliver the new processing facilities in line with the project’s requirements. The $4.04 billion contract represents a major addition to Wison Engineering’s project portfolio and reinforces its role in delivering complex gas-processing infrastructure for major energy companies.
