Interroll Holding AG has acquired Interroll AS, its long-standing distributor in Norway, strengthening the company’s direct presence in the Nordic region and bringing its Norwegian operations into the Interroll Group. Based in Norway, Interroll AS has served as Interroll’s exclusive distributor in the Norwegian market since 2000, following the consolidation of the company’s Nordic sales activities under Interroll Nordic.
Interroll AS was established and developed under the ownership of Erik Johannessen, who has led the business since its formation. Over the years, the company has built a strong customer base and after-sales service organisation in Norway. In addition to Interroll products, the company supplies other rollers and drum motors for bulk handling applications.
Markus Asch, CEO, Interroll, said the acquisition will strengthen the company’s customer relationships and support closer alignment of its sales strategy across the Nordic region. “With this acquisition, we strengthen our direct presence in the Nordic region and further enhance proximity to our customers in Norway. The integration of Interroll AS allows us to align our go-to-market approach more closely with our global strategy and ensures continuity for customers,” Mr Asch said.
Following the acquisition, Interroll AS will continue operating as a local sales organisation in Norway. Erik Johannessen, Managing Director of Interroll AS, will remain with the company during the transition period. Interroll plans to appoint a new managing director in the coming weeks. Mr Johannessen said the integration into Interroll will provide continuity for customers and create a strong basis for bringing the Norwegian business into the wider Interroll organisation.
The transaction was signed and completed simultaneously on June 30, 2026. The purchase price has not been disclosed. The acquisition is Interroll’s third transaction in nine months, following its acquisition of Sortteq in September 2025 and Royal Apollo Group in May 2026. The company said the latest transaction forms part of its strategy to strengthen its portfolio and expand its market presence.
Founded in 1959, Interroll is a global supplier of material-handling solutions for system integrators and original equipment manufacturers. Its portfolio includes conveyor rollers, motors and drives, conveyors and sorters, and pallet-handling systems. Interroll products are used across industries including e-commerce, express and postal services, airports, food and beverage, fashion and automotive manufacturing. The company serves customers through a global network of operating companies.
Headquartered in Switzerland, the Interroll Group has 36 operating companies worldwide. The company recorded sales of CHF 514.2 million in 2025 and had an average workforce of around 2,400 employees. Interroll AS has operated in Norway for more than 25 years, providing local sales and service support to customers. Its product portfolio also includes rollers and drum motors used in bulk material handling. The acquisition will allow Interroll to combine its global product and technology capabilities with direct local market presence in Norway, while maintaining the customer support structure developed by Interroll AS over the past two decades.
