The HAIMER Group will complete its generational ownership transition on August 1, 2026, with company shares passing to the founders’ children, Andreas Haimer and Kathrin Haimer. The move will keep the globally active manufacturing company fully under German family ownership while preparing it for its next phase of growth.
Andreas and Kathrin Haimer, who have held management positions at the company for several years, will take over as Managing Partners. Their parents, Claudia and Franz Haimer, founded HAIMER in 1977 and developed it into an internationally recognised manufacturer of tool holders, shrink fit and balancing technology, presetting machines and integrated tool management solutions.
The founders will remain active in the management team until December 31, 2027, supporting the transition and ensuring continuity. They will subsequently continue to advise the company as members of a newly established Advisory Board. Claudia Haimer said the transfer marks an important milestone for the family and the company. She noted that Andreas and Kathrin have already taken on significant responsibilities within HAIMER and are well prepared to continue its values, technological expertise and long-term strategy.
Under the second generation, HAIMER plans to continue its focus on technology, digitisation, automation and sustainability. The company intends to expand digital products, connected tool-room solutions and automated systems for shrinking, presetting and balancing.
Kathrin Haimer highlighted the family-owned company’s responsibility towards employees, apprentices and local communities. She said the objective is to combine HAIMER’s established values with new technologies and innovation while remaining a reliable partner for customers and an attractive employer.
Andreas Haimer said HAIMER’s own manufacturing operations provide direct insight into the importance of efficient production processes and tool management. The company operates more than 200 machine tools and processes around 5,000 tonnes of metal annually.
Based on this experience, HAIMER is investing in connected manufacturing technologies, including AI-capable shrink-fit, balancing and presetting equipment. Its “Tool Room of the Future” concept is designed to bring greater transparency, automation and data management to tool preparation and presetting.
The company is also working with machine-tool manufacturers to deploy connected solutions at production facilities worldwide. Franz Haimer said the company’s success has been driven by its employees and international team. He added that demand remains strong for integrated tool-room solutions from industries including semiconductors, aerospace, space, defence and energy.
The ownership transition will allow the company to remain independent and owner-managed while continuing its long-term investment strategy. The company said customers, employees and business partners can expect continuity in its direction, combined with further development of its technology portfolio. With the second generation assuming ownership and management responsibility, the company enters its next chapter as a family-owned industrial technology company focused on productivity, automation and connected manufacturing.
