GMO GlobalSign has expanded the availability of TLS Connect by GMO to businesses across the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. The Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) solution is designed for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that need a simple way to manage public trust TLS certificates without requiring specialist Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) expertise.

TLS Connect automates certificate deployment and renewal, helping businesses reduce the risk of expired certificates, service interruptions and security gaps. The solution also supports companies as TLS certificate validity periods continue to become shorter.

The first reduction in certificate validity took effect on March 15, 2026, when the maximum lifespan fell from 398 days to 200 days. The period is scheduled to reduce further to 100 days in March 2027 and eventually to 47 days by March 2029. These changes are increasing the frequency of certificate management and creating additional administrative pressure for businesses.

For SMEs, the challenge can be significant because many operate with limited IT resources and do not have dedicated cybersecurity or PKI specialists. TLS Connect addresses this gap by providing certificate discovery, centralized management and automated processes through a straightforward interface.

“TLS Connect has provided us with a user-friendly process, offering a single dashboard to control multiple nodes,” said Chandra Mohana, Senior Officer and Support Engineer at Konkan Specialty Polyproducts Pvt Ltd. “Overall, TLS Connect is a time-saving and efficient application for managing TLS certificates.”

The expansion is particularly relevant across APAC and the Middle East, where SMEs account for a major share of businesses. Companies in these markets are also facing growing cybersecurity and compliance requirements. Regulations and national cybersecurity frameworks in countries including Australia, India, Singapore, the Philippines and the UAE are increasing the focus on security controls and incident management. At the same time, businesses continue to face shortages of skilled cybersecurity professionals. This makes automation increasingly important for smaller organisations that may not have the resources to manage certificates manually.

“Managing TLS certificates is no longer a challenge limited to large enterprises,” said Aditya Anand, Head of Business Unit for TLS & CLM CA Division, GMO GlobalSign. “As certificate lifespans shrink, SMEs face the same risks of missed renewals and unexpected outages. TLS Connect provides automated certificate lifecycle management in a simple and affordable format designed for smaller businesses.” TLS Connect is deployed on premises and provides centralized certificate management across endpoints. Its design aims to deliver enterprise-style automation while keeping implementation and administration manageable for smaller IT teams.
