Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc, USA, has announced the launch of Sugammadex Injection in 200 mg/2 mL (100 mg/mL) and 500 mg/5 mL(100 mg/mL) single-dose vials in the United States. The launch strengthens the company’s injectable medicines portfolio and reinforces its commitment to expanding access to high-quality, affordable medicines for hospitals and healthcare providers across the country.
Glenmark’s Sugammadex Injection is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to BRIDION® (sugammadex) Injection, 100 mg/mL, the reference listed drug marketed by Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC. The product is used in hospital settings to reverse the effects of certain neuromuscular blocking agents administered during surgical procedures, helping patients recover muscle function following anesthesia.
According to IQVIA data for the 12-month period ending May 2026, the U.S. market for BRIDION® Injection generated annual sales of approximately US$1.6 billion, highlighting the significant demand for the therapy and the opportunity to improve patient access through the introduction of a generic alternative.
