Hindustan Zinc Limited has achieved a major milestone with its Hindustan Zinc Alloys Private Limited (HZAPL) facility receiving ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications. The internationally recognised certifications reinforce the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality products while maintaining strong environmental practices and workplace safety standards.

The certifications were awarded after a detailed assessment of the facility’s quality management systems, environmental practices, operational controls and occupational health and safety processes. The achievement highlights HZAPL’s focus on maintaining globally accepted manufacturing standards while strengthening customer confidence in its value-added zinc alloy products.

The recognition further enhances HZAPL’s position as a trusted manufacturer of specialised zinc alloys used across a wide range of industrial applications. It also reflects Hindustan Zinc’s ongoing investment in improving manufacturing processes, operational efficiency and product quality to meet the evolving needs of domestic and international customers.

Commenting on the achievement, Amarendu Prakash, Chief Executive Officer, Hindustan Zinc, said manufacturing excellence goes beyond producing quality products and depends on the systems and processes that support every stage of production. He said the triple ISO certification demonstrates the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, environmental responsibility and workplace safety. He added that the certifications will further strengthen Hindustan Zinc’s ability to deliver reliable alloy solutions while creating long-term value for customers and business partners.

The HZAPL facility was established to expand Hindustan Zinc’s portfolio of value-added products. It manufactures specialised zinc alloys, including HZDA 3 and HZDA 5, which are widely used in precision engineering and industrial applications. The facility also develops customised alloy compositions designed to meet specific customer requirements across different industries.

Both HZDA 3 and HZDA 5 have been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), highlighting their quality, consistency and reliability. Supported by advanced manufacturing technology, strict quality control systems and environmentally responsible production practices, the facility combines metallurgical expertise with customer-focused innovation to deliver dependable alloy solutions.

The latest certifications further strengthen Hindustan Zinc’s broader portfolio, which includes refined zinc, lead, silver, specialised zinc alloys and EcoZen, the company’s low-carbon zinc offering. By enhancing the manufacturing standards of its alloy business, the company is better positioned to meet the growing demand for responsibly produced, high-performance metal solutions.

The ISO certifications also demonstrate Hindustan Zinc’s integrated approach to responsible manufacturing. The company continues to embed quality management, resource efficiency, environmental protection and employee well-being into its day-to-day operations. These internationally recognised standards are expected to improve manufacturing consistency, strengthen operational resilience and support continuous improvement across the facility.

As industries increasingly demand greater product quality, traceability and sustainable manufacturing practices, Hindustan Zinc continues to invest in advanced production capabilities and customer-driven innovation. The company believes the latest achievement will further strengthen its reputation as a reliable supplier of value-added metal solutions while supporting its long-term vision of building a globally competitive manufacturing ecosystem.

Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company, is the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and among the leading silver producers globally. The company supplies products to more than 40 countries and continues to focus on innovation, sustainability and responsible manufacturing while supporting the growing global demand for critical metals used in the energy transition and modern industrial applications.
