Venture Global and EnBW have signed new binding agreements for the purchase of approximately 0.82 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States, further strengthening their long-standing energy partnership and supporting Europe’s evolving energy security requirements. Under the newly executed agreements, Venture Global will supply LNG from its portfolio of export facilities for a period of approximately five years beginning in 2026. The contracts complement the existing long-term sales and purchase agreements between the two companies, which already cover 2 MTPA of LNG supply over a 20-year period.

The expanded arrangement reflects growing demand for reliable and diversified energy sources as European markets continue to enhance supply resilience and strengthen long-term energy planning. The additional volumes will provide EnBW with greater flexibility in securing dependable LNG supplies while supporting the company’s broader energy portfolio and customer commitments.

Venture Global has emerged as a major supplier of US LNG to international markets and continues to expand its role in helping meet global energy demand. The company’s integrated approach across production, transportation, shipping and regasification enables it to provide customers with tailored supply solutions across different contract durations and market requirements.

Commenting on the agreement, Mike Sabel, Chief Executive Officer of Venture Global, said the company is pleased to deepen its relationship with one of Germany’s leading energy providers. “As one of Germany’s key LNG suppliers, we are proud to further strengthen our partnership with EnBW and contribute to regional energy security through reliable LNG deliveries,” Sabel said. “These new agreements build on a strong foundation of cooperation and demonstrate our ability to provide flexible supply solutions that meet customers’ changing energy requirements across short-, medium- and long-term horizons.”

The latest contracts underscore the growing importance of LNG in supporting energy diversification strategies while helping ensure stable access to fuel during periods of market volatility. Venture Global currently has more than 100 MTPA of LNG production, construction and development capacity across its portfolio. Since commencing LNG production in 2022, the company has rapidly grown into one of the largest LNG exporters in the United States.
