Zydus Lifesciences Limited has introduced a new set of companion diagnostic solutions aimed at improving chronic disease management through advanced digital health technology. The company announced the upcoming launch of Diasens™ and GlucoLive™, two next-generation Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) devices designed to provide real-time glucose tracking supported by artificial intelligence and connected care features.
The newly introduced systems are built to offer continuous glucose monitoring combined with AI-driven insights, allowing patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to access and interpret glucose data more efficiently. The technology enables real-time data sharing and supports a connected healthcare environment where monitoring, analysis, and clinical decision-making can take place seamlessly.
To further strengthen the digital health ecosystem around these devices, Zydus has partnered with Digicare Health Solutions Private Limited, also known as TatvaCare™. Through this collaboration, patients using the devices will gain access to GoodFlip™, TatvaCare’s integrated digital health platform. The mobile application combines AI-powered analytics with healthcare services such as medical consultations, lifestyle coaching, diagnostic bookings, and secure storage of medical records.
Dr Sharvil Patel, Managing Director of Zydus Lifesciences Limited, said the introduction of these technologies reflects the company’s commitment to patient-centric innovation. “Diasens™ and GlucoLive™ represent an important step in strengthening our companion diagnostics offerings for chronic disease care,” he said. “By combining artificial intelligence with connected health technologies, we aim to provide patients with convenient and reliable glucose monitoring solutions that support better disease management and improved quality of life.”
India faces a significant and growing burden of diabetes. According to findings from the ICMR-INDIAB study published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, more than 101 million adults in the country are currently living with diabetes, while an additional 136 million individuals are estimated to be in the pre-diabetic stage. This makes India one of the largest populations affected by the condition globally.
The implications of diabetes extend beyond blood sugar management alone. The disease is a major contributor to chronic kidney disease in India, with research suggesting that between 25 and 40 percent of individuals diagnosed with CKD have a history of diabetes. In addition, thousands of patients undergoing organ transplants each year develop new-onset diabetes as a result of long-term immunosuppressive therapy.
Despite the scale of the challenge, glucose monitoring in India often remains limited to occasional finger-prick tests or laboratory HbA1c evaluations conducted every few months. Such intermittent monitoring can leave gaps in data visibility and delay timely clinical intervention.
Existing CGM devices available in the market commonly rely on near-field communication technology, which requires users to manually scan the sensor to obtain glucose readings. This process places responsibility on patients to repeatedly check their levels and may result in incomplete data capture.
Diasens™ and GlucoLive™ aim to address these limitations by automatically transmitting glucose readings to a user’s smartphone every three minutes without requiring manual scanning. This continuous data flow allows uninterrupted tracking, including overnight monitoring and alerts during critical events.
The devices will integrate with the GoodFlip™ application, where AI-based algorithms will analyze glucose trends and detect potential hypo- or hyperglycemic episodes. The system can also correlate glucose fluctuations with factors such as dietary intake and physical activity, providing personalized insights and recommendations.
Healthcare providers will be able to access a dedicated clinical dashboard, enabling remote patient monitoring and early intervention when necessary. This feature is designed to help physicians adjust treatment plans based on real-time data and support more proactive diabetes management. Through the launch of Diasens™ and GlucoLive™, Zydus Lifesciences aims to combine medical science, digital innovation, and connected healthcare technologies to create more accessible and effective solutions for patients living with chronic conditions.
