Two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha Motor India, a subsidiary of the Japan-based Yamaha group, has joined forces with the Tamil Nadu government to support education through its corporate social responsibility program. As part of this effort, India Yamaha Motor has built 12 new classrooms for the Government High School in Thirukalimedu, located in Kancheepuram district.
This development represents one of the largest school infrastructure projects undertaken by India Yamaha Motor. The building features six classrooms on each floor, along with a computer lab, restrooms, and a kitchen, according to an official company statement released on Tuesday. The school is also powered by a 10kW solar energy system to meet its electricity needs.
The opening ceremony was attended by Yamaha Motor India Group Chairman Itaru Otani, Yamaha Motor India Director Atsushi Nagashima, Kancheepuram MLA CVMP Ezhilarasan, and other district officials.
