On Wednesday, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN) announced plans to acquire a majority stake in Lauak Group, a French manufacturer of aircraft parts. Lauak Group, a family-owned company for over 50 years, supplies critical components to leading aerospace companies globally. However, the exact details of the stake and deal value were not disclosed.
“Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN) and the Charritton family, founders of Lauak Group, revealed at the Paris Air Show that they have entered into exclusive negotiations for the acquisition of a majority stake in Lauak. The transaction has been approved by the relevant employee representative bodies,” the company said in a statement.
The deal is expected to be finalized in the upcoming months, after which the two companies will operate under the name Wipro Lauak. A joint Board of Directors will be formed with representatives from both Wipro and Lauak to steer the company’s future direction. Lauak Group CEO Mikel Charritton will continue in his current role.
