Volvo Trucks has secured the No. 1 position in Europe’s heavy truck segment (16 tonnes and above) for 2025, recording a 19.0% market share, up from 17.9% in 2024. The strongest registration volumes for Volvo during the year came from the UK, France, Poland, Germany, and Lithuania.

A key contributor to performance was the Volvo FH Aero, which has gained strong traction with long-haul operators across the region. Improved aerodynamics and features such as Volvo’s digital camera mirror system have helped the FH Aero deliver up to 7% better fuel efficiency compared to the standard Volvo FH it replaced. In 2025, close to 33,000 FH Aero trucks were ordered in Europe.

Roger Alm, President, Volvo Trucks, said, “We are proud to lead the European heavy truck market for the second year in a row. It is a strong sign of the trust our customers place in Volvo Trucks, and I want to thank both our customers and our employees for this achievement.” He added, “Our product portfolio offers strong uptime, fuel efficiency and safety. The FH Aero stands out as our flagship for long-distance transport, and customers are already seeing major performance and fuel benefits.”

Volvo Trucks also strengthened its global position, ranking as the market leader or second-largest brand in 30 countries during 2025. The company continues to drive the shift toward lower-emission transport, working toward a net-zero target by 2040 through a three-path strategy comprising battery-electric vehicles, fuel cell-electric technology, and combustion engines running on renewable fuels such as green hydrogen, biogas, biodiesel and HVO.

Mr Alm said, “We will keep investing in new technologies and launching trucks that support our customers’ business outcomes while accelerating decarbonisation across the transport industry. A multi-technology approach ensures we can offer solutions that match different needs and market conditions.”

Volvo Trucks provides full transport solutions for professional operators across its medium- and heavy-duty range, supported by a global dealer network with 2,200 service points in around 130 countries. Volvo trucks are assembled in 12 countries, and the company delivered about 134,000 trucks worldwide in 2024. Volvo Trucks is part of the Volvo Group, a global leader in trucks, buses, construction equipment, and industrial and marine engines, as well as financing and service solutions. The company operates on the core values of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
