VIDA, the electric mobility arm of Hero MotoCorp, has launched DIRT.E K3, the first model in its newly formed off-road lineup, DIRT.E. Created for children between 4 and 10 years, the DIRT.E K3 introduces a new way for young riders to experience motorcycling by pairing an electric powertrain with a size-adaptive frame that expands as they grow and build skills across changing terrains.

Rooted in the DIRT.E philosophy of “Wild beyond the Ride,” the K3 marks VIDA’s debut in the off-road category, bringing structured, safe, and environmentally responsible riding opportunities to young enthusiasts. At the heart of the DIRT.E K3 is a three-level adjustment system that quickly shifts the motorcycle between Small, Medium, and Large setups using a single tool. This feature solves a long-standing challenge for parents: most beginner bikes become too small within a short period. By preserving consistent ergonomics over multiple years, the K3 helps children develop correct riding posture and confidence from the start. Its authentic off-road geometry further encourages good riding habits.

The electric drivetrain delivers smooth, predictable torque to ensure riders feel secure during early practice. Parents can personalize the learning process through app-based controls that allow speed settings, riding-mode locks, and monitoring features during training sessions.

DIRT.E K3 was conceptualized and engineered at Hero Tech Centre Germany (HTCG) and the Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, combining global engineering expertise with Hero’s advanced mobility development. Manufacturing will take place at Hero MotoCorp’s green EV facility in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, home to the VIDA production line. This integrated development-to-production pathway ensures top-tier quality in safety, design, and performance.

The motorcycle features a 350W continuous (500W peak) motor paired with a 360Wh removable battery. The battery can be detached for convenient at-home charging, reaching full charge in roughly three hours and offering up to three hours of riding time based on terrain and chosen ride mode. A magnetic connector ensures proper alignment, while the sealed casing protects against dust and moisture in varied weather.

Three ride modes—Beginner (8 km/h), Amateur (16 km/h) and Pro (25 km/h)—support gradual skill progression. A 16-inch spoked wheel setup, a rear hydraulic disc brake designed to minimize front-end slip, and a frame that adjusts in height and wheelbase across all three sizing levels contribute to better stability, control, and durability on different surfaces.

Safety has been built into every component. The K3 includes an over-moulded wiring harness for long-term durability, a child-friendly brake lever, impact-absorbing elements for added protection, and a magnetic lanyard-style cutoff switch that immediately disables power if the rider becomes separated from the motorcycle.

Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer of the Emerging Mobility Business Unit at Hero MotoCorp, said “DIRT.E K3 reshapes ho w children begin their motorcycling journey. Our aim was to build a product that grows with them—encouraging curiosity, confidence, and responsible exploration. DIRT.E forms the foundation of an ecosystem designed to support young riders through a safe, progressive, and nature-connected experience.”

DIRT.E K3 has earned global recognition, receiving the Red Dot Design Award 2025 and being named a CES Innovation Award Honoree for 2026—highlighting its forward-thinking design and engineering excellence.

VIDA is now accepting Expressions of Interest for the DIRT.E K3 at vidaworld.com. The model will be offered in Red, Purple, and White, with an introductory price of INR 69,990 for the first 300 units. Retail sales begin on January 15, 2026, with initial deliveries available in five cities: Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Jaipur, and Calicut.
