Venture Global, Inc and Hanwha Aerospace Co, Ltd have signed a long-term Sales and Purchase Agreement for the supply of 1.5 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States. Deliveries under the agreement are scheduled to begin in 2030 and continue for 20 years.

The contract marks Venture Global’s first long-term LNG supply arrangement with a partner in South Korea and increases the company’s total long-term contracted portfolio to more than 46 million tonnes per year. The agreement reflects growing cooperation between the United States and South Korea in strengthening energy security and supporting stable fuel supply for industrial and economic development.

Mike Sabel, Chief Executive Officer of Venture Global, said the partnership represents an important step in expanding LNG supply to customers in Asia. He added that the company is committed to providing reliable, competitively priced LNG to support rising global energy demand while helping partner nations secure long-term energy resources.

Hanwha Aerospace said the agreement supports its efforts to build an integrated LNG value chain with other companies in the Hanwha Group. The company aims to strengthen energy infrastructure and diversify supply sources while supporting cleaner energy solutions.

Venture Global is an American producer and exporter of LNG, with more than 100 million tonnes per year of capacity across projects that are operating, under construction or in development. The company began LNG production in 2022 and has expanded rapidly to become one of the largest exporters in the United States. Its projects include Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG and CP2 LNG facilities in Louisiana.

The company’s operations cover multiple stages of the LNG supply chain, including gas sourcing, liquefaction, shipping and regasification. Venture Global is also working on carbon capture and storage initiatives at its facilities to reduce emissions associated with LNG production.

Hanwha Aerospace, a key affiliate of the Hanwha Group, operates globally in aerospace and defence and has expanded into energy and industrial infrastructure. The company is investing in LNG-related projects as part of its strategy to enhance energy supply reliability and support long-term growth. The agreement highlights continued demand for LNG in Asia and the importance of long-term partnerships in ensuring stable and secure energy supply for growing economies.
