In Odisha and Chhattisgarh, Vedanta Aluminium organised diverse sporting activities for employees and community members. The ‘Cyclothon’ event, held in collaboration with Marwari Yuva Manch in Jharsuguda, saw the participation of hundreds of community members cycling to promote an active lifestyle. The company’s emphasis on grassroots sports was evident in the indoor games tournament ‘Spardha-2023’ organised for employees at its Lanjigarh refinery. Additionally, Vedanta Aluminium’s Mines vertical is set to conduct an inter-school sports competition in the Sundargarh district.

In Jharsuguda, Vedanta Aluminium is actively fostering hockey talent and has organised tournaments such as the District Hockey Championship. The company also sponsored the construction of the new administration building of the Jharsuguda District Athletics Association.
In Lanjigarh, Vedanta Aluminium supports grassroots sports by providing quality equipment and training from expert coaches to local youth. Currently, over 40 students are being trained in archery and 60 in karate at SSD High School, Lanjigarh. Last year, these students participated in numerous state and national-level competitions, securing over 35 medals.
