Vande Bharatam, the grassroots innovation and entrepreneurship initiative launched by Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, has selected its first cohort from more than 26,000 applications received from across India. The initiative attracted entries from every State and Union Territory, with innovators presenting ideas across mobility, sustainability, technology, agriculture, defence, healthcare, manufacturing, education and other sectors. The selected cohort represents innovators from different regions and backgrounds who are working on solutions aimed at addressing challenges and creating wider social and economic impact.

Vande Bharatam was launched with the objective of identifying promising talent beyond India’s traditional entrepreneurial centres and providing innovators with access to experienced mentors, industry leaders and business networks. The initiative seeks to help participants develop their ideas, strengthen their enterprises and create solutions with potential for nationwide impact.

Commenting on the selection of the inaugural cohort, Gautam Adani said, “When I look at these innovators, I see the possibilities of tomorrow’s Bharat. Talent has no city limits and opportunity should not have them either. Years from now, I hope we will look back at this first cohort and see among them the founders and innovators who went on to build enterprises that transformed Bharat. This is their initial chapter. And it is Vande Bharatam’s first chapter too.”

The first cohort was selected through a multi-stage evaluation process. The shortlisted innovators will participate in Vande Bharatam Immersive Week, which will include mentoring sessions, interactions with business leaders, entrepreneurs and subject experts, along with further rounds of evaluation.

The programme will culminate in the Vande Bharatam Grand Finale on August 14, where outstanding innovators will be recognised and presented with the Vande Bharatam Trophy. Vande Bharatam is designed as a long-term platform rather than a one-time competition. Its objective is to identify ideas at an early stage and connect innovators with the people, institutions and resources required to turn those ideas into sustainable businesses.

The initiative is based on the belief that talent and innovation are not limited by geography. By creating opportunities for innovators from different parts of India, Vande Bharatam aims to expand access to mentorship, industry exposure and networks that can help promising ideas reach a larger market.

The first cohort marks the beginning of the initiative’s broader effort to build a national ecosystem for grassroots innovation and entrepreneurship. Vande Bharatam plans to continue identifying innovators and supporting ideas that can contribute to India’s economic development and address challenges across sectors. Through its nationwide approach, the initiative aims to provide a platform for emerging entrepreneurs to develop their capabilities, gain industry exposure and build enterprises capable of creating employment, innovation and long-term value.
