Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing Limited (BSE: 544322 | NSE: UNIMECH) has entered into definitive agreements to acquire Hobel Bellows, an Indian manufacturer known for its expertise in metallic bellows, flexible tubing components, and precision-engineered assemblies. The proposed transaction marks a strategic step toward enhancing Unimech’s capabilities and expanding its presence across high-value industrial sectors.

The acquisition aligns with Unimech’s focus on building a globally competitive, capability-driven engineering platform. By integrating Hobel Bellows’ specialised manufacturing strengths, the company aims to broaden its portfolio beyond precision components into advanced engineered assemblies and sub-systems. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions.

Hobel Bellows operates a large manufacturing facility at Duvvada SEZ in Visakhapatnam, supported by in-house design, testing, and evaluation infrastructure. The company produces metallic bellows, expansion joints, and sheet metal fabrications for industries such as automotive, locomotive, power transmission, and industrial engineering. With certifications including ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016, Hobel has established a reputation for quality and process discipline.

A significant portion of Hobel Bellows’ business is export-driven, with nearly 90 percent of revenues derived from global markets including the United Kingdom, United States, Singapore, and China. For the financial year ending March 31, 2026, the company reported provisional revenues of ₹123.7 crore, supported by strong margins, steady cash flows, and healthy returns.

The acquisition brings a range of complementary capabilities to Unimech, including advanced metal forming technologies such as hydroforming and elastomer forming, precision pipe bending, and specialised welding techniques including TIG and robotic welding. In addition, Hobel’s testing and validation systems—such as dimensional inspection, leak detection, and automated quality checks—further strengthen Unimech’s engineering capabilities.

The integration is expected to create multiple operational and strategic benefits. These include expanded offerings for existing OEM customers, entry into new industrial segments, and faster market access through established manufacturing expertise. The combination also enhances Unimech’s financial profile by adding a high-margin and cash-generative business.

Commenting on the development, Anil Puthan, Chairman and Managing Director of Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing Limited, stated that the acquisition represents a key milestone in the company’s growth journey. He emphasized that Hobel Bellows brings not only products but also critical capabilities, long-standing customer relationships, and a strong export base, all of which align with Unimech’s long-term vision.

With this move, Unimech reinforces its commitment to building a scalable, export-oriented engineering platform. The company continues to pursue opportunities that strengthen its technological depth, expand customer engagement, and support sustained value creation.

Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing Limited provides advanced engineering solutions with expertise in precision machining, tooling, assemblies, and specialised manufacturing.
