Uniflow Controls Pvt Ltd has invested approximately ₹500 million (₹50 crore) to establish a new Industry 4.0-compliant manufacturing facility at Ambernath MIDC, Maharashtra. The new plant will significantly expand the company’s manufacturing capacity and strengthen its capabilities in automation, engineering and product development. Uniflow currently produces around 8,000 industrial valves annually at its Thane facility. With the addition of the Ambernath plant, the company expects its annual production capacity to increase to 40,000–50,000 valves.
The facility marks an important expansion for Uniflow after 17 years in the industrial control-valve business. The company plans to use the new manufacturing base to strengthen its position in India while increasing its ability to serve customers in international markets.
Manoj Mishra, Managing Director, Uniflow Controls Pvt Ltd, said the investment is aimed at creating a manufacturing platform that combines automation, engineering capabilities and flexibility. “Our objective is not simply to add production capacity, but to build a future-ready manufacturing ecosystem that combines automation, engineering capabilities and operational flexibility. This investment will help us strengthen our domestic position, expand into emerging sectors such as LNG and nuclear energy, and build the capabilities required to serve global markets,” Mr Mishra said.
The Ambernath facility has been selected for its established industrial ecosystem and connectivity. Its location provides access to road and rail networks, ports, airports, power and water infrastructure, as well as skilled and semi-skilled workers from nearby areas.
Uniflow has identified three key objectives for the investment: improving domestic cost competitiveness, accelerating product development and expanding export opportunities. The new plant will include flexible automation and plug-and-play manufacturing areas designed to support customised products and faster prototype development. The additional capacity will also help the company address requirements from sectors such as LNG and nuclear energy.
The facility will use connected manufacturing technologies across production and quality processes. Its technology infrastructure includes CNC machinery, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), AI-based predictive maintenance, computer vision inspection, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), automated inventory management and automated storage and retrieval systems.
These systems are expected to improve production monitoring, inventory control, quality inspection and use of manufacturing resources. The plant will have the capacity to support a workforce of more than 175 employees, with around 40–50% of the initial workforce expected to come from nearby suburbs. The expansion is also expected to generate indirect opportunities for suppliers, contractors, transport operators, logistics companies and other local service providers.
Uniflow manufactures industrial control valves and engineered flow-control solutions for process industries. Its product range includes globe control valves, ball valves, butterfly valves, plug valves, pressure relief valves, flush bottom valves, diaphragm valves and pressure-reducing systems. The company has developed around 35 SKUs and more than 30 design patents and has completed over 4,300 projects for more than 1,250 customers.
Founded in 2009, Uniflow Controls is headquartered near Thane, Maharashtra, and supplies control valves and related products to industries including oil and gas, chemicals and power. The Ambernath facility is expected to provide the company with a larger and technology-driven base for its next phase of growth.
