Unibloc Hygienic Technologies (UHT), a global supplier of hygienic flow control equipment, has completed the acquisition of Metaltech Precision Engineers Ltd, a UK-based CNC machining specialist with nearly five decades of experience serving the hygienic processing industry. The transaction marks a key step in UHT’s strategy to deepen manufacturing integration, accelerate delivery timelines, and support growing global demand.
Established in 1976, Metaltech has built a strong reputation as a precision engineering partner to manufacturers of hygienic pumps and flow control equipment. UHT has been one of Metaltech’s long-standing customers for more than 20 years, with Metaltech machining critical components for a broad range of Unibloc hygienic pump products used across food and beverage, bakery and confectionery, meat and poultry processing, brewing, pharmaceuticals, and transportation applications worldwide.
By bringing Metaltech into the UHT organisation, Unibloc gains greater control over key machining processes, expanded production capacity, and improved responsiveness to customer requirements. The integration is expected to reduce lead times while maintaining the high quality standards required for hygienic processing environments.
Commenting on the acquisition, Chris Stevens, Chief Executive Officer of Unibloc Hygienic Technologies, said the move formalises a long-standing partnership and combines skilled personnel, specialised equipment, and deep industry knowledge under one platform. He noted that the alignment supports Unibloc’s ongoing investments in internal manufacturing and reinforces its commitment to delivering dependable, high-performance hygienic flow control solutions.
The acquisition builds on recent capital investments by UHT in its UK operations. In December 2022, the company announced significant additions to CNC machining capacity at its Bolney facility, including new lathes delivered in early 2023 and further equipment scheduled for installation later in the year. These investments are designed to enable round-the-clock machining operations and accommodate future growth. Metaltech becomes the third acquisition for Unibloc Hygienic Technologies within an 18-month period. Earlier additions include Standard Pump, a US-based manufacturer of hygienic and industrial process pumps, and Flotronic Pumps, a UK-based specialist in air-operated double-diaphragm pumps.
Dan Barlow, Founding Partner at May River Capital, said the acquisition enhances supply chain control and operating efficiency, supporting Unibloc’s long-term growth objectives while strengthening its manufacturing platform.
Unibloc Hygienic Technologies designs and manufactures precision-engineered pumps and flow control solutions for demanding hygienic applications. Its portfolio includes positive displacement pumps, air-operated double-diaphragm pumps, drum pumps, and related products marketed under the Unibloc, Flotronic, Standard Pump, and Hygenitec brands. Serving industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and transportation, UHT focuses on reliability, ease of maintenance, and reduced operating costs.
