TVS Supply Chain Solutions Limited (TVS SCS) has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan-based Sankyu Inc to explore new opportunities across supply chain management and engineering services. The partnership will combine TVS SCS’s integrated supply chain capabilities and customer network with Sankyu’s engineering expertise, logistics operations and strong relationships with Japanese industrial companies.

Under the agreement, the two companies will explore solutions covering logistics, warehousing, transportation, engineering, maintenance and on-site industrial support. The collaboration will initially focus on India, with plans to examine opportunities across Asia, the Middle East and Africa over time.

As part of the MoU, Sankyu intends to acquire a 0.5% equity stake in TVS SCS, subject to customary regulatory approvals. The companies see significant potential in India, particularly among Japanese manufacturing and industrial businesses. More than 1,400 Japanese companies operate in India across manufacturing and industrial sectors, creating opportunities for integrated logistics and engineering solutions.

R Dinesh, Chairman, TVS Supply Chain Solutions, said the partnership marks an important step in strengthening the company’s capabilities and creating greater value for customers. He noted that Sankyu’s engineering expertise and strong relationships across Japan’s industrial ecosystem complement TVS Supply Chain Solutions’ integrated supply chain capabilities, customer relationships and market presence. The collaboration, he added, reflects a shared focus on long-term value creation and is expected to enable both companies to develop more comprehensive solutions, address the evolving requirements of manufacturing and industrial customers, and pursue new growth opportunities across India and other strategic markets.

Kimihiro Nakamura, President and CEO, Sankyu Inc, said that since its establishment in 1918, Sankyu has remained committed to supporting the development of the manufacturing sector while placing people at the centre of its business philosophy. He said the company was pleased to partner with TVS Supply Chain Solutions, citing the strong alignment between the two organisations in terms of values, strategic priorities and commitment to high ethical standards. By combining their complementary capabilities, the companies aim to strengthen their global market presence, pursue sustainable growth and contribute to the continued development of industrial ecosystems.

As part of the collaboration, TVS Supply Chain Solutions and Sankyu will establish a joint steering committee comprising representatives from both organisations. The committee will be responsible for identifying potential growth opportunities, guiding strategic initiatives and exploring the development of integrated solutions. Through this structured approach, the partnership will focus on combining the strengths of both companies to enhance customer value and create opportunities for sustainable growth across key markets.
