TVS Motor Company has launched its connected passenger electric three-wheeler, the TVS King EV MAX, in Sri Lanka. The new electric three-wheeler combines a claimed 179-kilometre range, fast charging, connected technology and passenger-focused features for urban transportation.

The launch expands TVS Motor’s electric three-wheeler portfolio into another international market as Sri Lanka continues to explore cleaner and more economical mobility solutions. The TVS King EV MAX is equipped with an 11 kW motor and a 51.2V lithium-ion LFP battery. It offers a top speed of 60 km/h and comes with three riding modes — ECO at 40 km/h, City at 50 km/h and Power at 60 km/h.

The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 30 km/h in 3.7 seconds. Its battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in approximately two hours and 30 minutes, helping reduce charging downtime and increase daily vehicle utilisation. The three-wheeler features TVS SmartXonnect™, offering connected functions such as navigation, vehicle alerts and diagnostics through a smartphone. The spacious cabin and ergonomic seating are designed to provide greater comfort for passengers during daily city travel.

Peyman Kargar, President, International Business, TVS Motor Company, said, “We are proud to introduce the TVS King EV MAX in Sri Lanka. The launch reflects our commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions across international markets. The vehicle brings together performance, connectivity, comfort and operating efficiency to address everyday transportation requirements.” The company said the product has been tested under Sri Lankan operating conditions to assess its suitability for local customers. It also comes with a warranty of six years or 150,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.

Madhu Prakash Singh, Vice President, International Business, TVS Motor Company, said the King EV MAX was developed with customer requirements in mind and offers long range, fast charging, acceleration and connectivity. He added that lower running costs could help customers improve savings and vehicle utilisation compared with conventional fuel-powered three-wheelers.

Three-wheelers are an important part of Sri Lanka’s urban transport network and support last-mile connectivity, tourism and livelihoods. The growing focus on electric mobility is expected to create opportunities for electric three-wheelers because of their lower operating and maintenance costs. Geethal Anthony, Chief Executive Officer, TVS Lanka, said the company will focus on building a complete ownership ecosystem along with the product launch. This includes after-sales support, service readiness, spare-parts availability and customer assistance.
