Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) has graduated 358 students from its 17th batch, strengthening its contribution to India’s skilled manufacturing workforce. The latest batch includes 64 students from the regular TTTI programme and 294 students from rural Karnataka enrolled under the Toyota Kaushalya programme.

The convocation recognised students who completed TTTI’s four-part learning framework covering Knowledge, Skill, Body and Attitude. The graduates received their honours from Dr. K. P. Gopalkrishna, educationist and Chairman of the TISB, NAFL, GMC and NPS Group of Institutions, who attended as Chief Guest, along with Satish Suryawanshi, In-charge Director, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training, Government of Maharashtra, and Yoshihiro Tohyama, Principal, Toyota Technical Skills Academy, Japan.

The event brought together representatives from the Automotive Skills Development Council, National Skill Development Corporation, Electronics Sector Skills Council of India, Toyota Group companies, supplier partners and government skill development institutions. The gathering provided an opportunity for industry and government stakeholders to discuss ways to strengthen vocational training and employment opportunities.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor also announced the extension of five Memorandums of Understanding with industrial training institutes as part of its continued focus on industry-linked vocational education. Graduates received nationally and industry-recognised qualifications, including the National Apprenticeship Certificate, ASDC Certificate, Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing Certificate and Toyota Certificate of Completion. Since TTTI was established, 2,133 students have graduated, with 531 joining Toyota Kirloskar Motor. Others have found employment with Toyota Group companies, supplier organisations and companies in India and overseas.

TTTI students have also delivered strong results at international skills competitions. The institute’s students have won medals and Medallions of Excellence at WorldSkills competitions in Brazil, Abu Dhabi, Russia, Germany and France. In June 2026, a TTTI trainee won a Gold Medal at the Australia Global Skills Challenge in Wollongong, which brought together participants from 16 countries. TTTI students will also represent India at the WorldSkills Competition 2026 in Shanghai, competing in Mechatronics, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, Welding and Autobody Repair.

G Shankara, Chief Strategy Officer, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the institute remains focused on developing industry-ready talent and expanding access to technical education. TKM has supported more than 105 government ITIs in Karnataka and provided skilling to over 1.85 lakh individuals through various initiatives.

Established in 2007, TTTI provides free, fully residential technical education to economically disadvantaged rural youth. The institute has maintained a 100% placement record and currently trains more than 1,407 students at its Bidadi campus.
