Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has won two prestigious EEPC Export Excellence awards. The company received the ‘Engines and Turbines & Parts Thereof – Large Enterprise’ award for 2019-20 and the ‘Gold Trophy’ for Top Exporters under the Merchant Exporter category for 2020-21.
These awards recognize TKM’s significant contribution to India’s engineering exports. The engineering sector is crucial to manufacturing in India, greatly contributing to the overall output. The awards ceremony took place in Puducherry and was attended by key figures including Vimal Anand from the Department of Commerce, Government of India, Arun Kumar Garodia, Chairman of EEPC, Shashi Kiran Lewis, Deputy Regional Chairman of EEPC, and Raman Raghu, Regional Chairman of EEPC.
EEPC India is an organization supported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, promoting the engineering sector and serving as a link between the government and the engineering community. The EEPC Export Excellence Awards honor top exporters based on factors like FOB (Freight on Board) value of exports, products exported, and net foreign exchange earned.
TKM showed significant growth in engine exports in 2019-20 and increased exports in the Merchant Exporter category in 2020-21, including engines and parts. G Shankara, Executive Vice President and Director of Finance and Administration at TKM, said, “Receiving these awards from EEPC India highlights our commitment to export excellence and our contribution to the state and national economy.”
Last year, TKM also received two EEPC National Awards for Export Excellence. establishment in 1997.
