Toyota Kirloskar Motor has handed over two specially equipped Toyota Hilux vehicles to the Bengaluru South District, Ramanagara Division, under its Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) initiative to strengthen emergency response and conservation efforts in Karnataka’s forest regions. The customised vehicles have been equipped with critical forest fire mitigation and rescue equipment, including blowers and stretchers, to support frontline forest personnel in handling emergencies such as wildlife rescues, human-animal conflict situations, and forest fire incidents.

The rugged off-road capability and durability of the Toyota Hilux are expected to improve accessibility and operational efficiency in remote and difficult forest terrains, helping emergency response teams reach affected locations more quickly. The vehicles will also support routine forest management activities such as patrolling, biodiversity conservation programmes, wildlife protection operations, and rapid deployment during emergencies across the region.

The formal handover ceremony took place in Kanakapura in the presence of DK Shivakumar, senior officials from the Karnataka Forest Department, and leadership representatives from Toyota Kirloskar Motor. Appreciating the initiative, Mr Shivakumar said the deployment of the vehicles would significantly improve emergency response capabilities in challenging terrains while strengthening conservation activities on the ground. He noted that such partnerships between industry and government agencies play an important role in supporting environmental protection and forest management efforts.

Sudeep Dalvi said environmental conservation requires collective participation and long-term commitment from all stakeholders. He added that the initiative goes beyond providing mobility solutions and focuses on equipping frontline forest teams with the resources required to respond effectively during critical situations.

According to the company, the project reflects Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s continued focus on supporting natural ecosystem preservation and assisting field personnel working in environmentally sensitive regions. The initiative aligns with Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s larger sustainability strategy, which emphasises environmental conservation, responsible resource utilisation, and community development.

The company said it continues to collaborate with government authorities, local communities, and environmental stakeholders to create long-term positive environmental impact across regions where it operates. Toyota Kirloskar Motor has been actively involved in multiple sustainability and social responsibility programmes in India, focusing on ecological restoration, road safety awareness, skill development, water conservation, and community welfare initiatives.
