Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Energy Solutions Limited (TBWES), a fully owned subsidiary of Thermax, has won an order exceeding ₹580 crore from Dangote Industries, one of West Africa’s largest business groups, for their refinery and petrochemical complex in Nigeria. Similar to an earlier project executed for the same customer, the assignment involves supplying four high-pressure utility boilers of 400 TPH capacity along with essential auxiliary systems. TBWES will handle project management, engineering, procurement, fabrication, plug-and-play module delivery, and supervision during construction and commissioning.

Thermax and Dangote Industries share a long association. In 2017, Thermax secured a publicly announced order of about US$157 million to supply boilers, HRSGs, and flue-gas steam generators for Dangote’s refinery project in Lekki, Nigeria. Since then, Thermax has continued to support the group with installation, commissioning, and system upgrades, reinforcing a partnership built on reliability and technical strength.

Commenting on the latest win, Ashish Bhandari, MD & CEO of Thermax, said the order aligns with Dangote Industries’ ambition to advance Africa’s energy self-reliance and demonstrates continued confidence in Thermax’s capability to deliver complex projects. Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Founder and President of Dangote Industries, noted that the collaboration reflects years of mutual trust and the consistent performance of Thermax’s solutions.

TBWES specialises in steam-generation systems powered by solid, liquid, and gas fuels, as well as technologies that recover heat from turbines, engines, and industrial waste streams. The company also develops heaters for chemical, petrochemical, and refinery applications and provides refurbishment and upgrade services for ageing boiler and heater installations.
