In his new role, Carter will oversee the company’s end-to-end supply chain operations, with responsibility for strengthening manufacturing, procurement, logistics and operational excellence while supporting Marzetti’s long-term growth strategy.

Mr Carter joins The Marzetti Company with more than 25 years of leadership experience in supply chain management across the consumer packaged goods industry. Throughout his career, he has led large-scale manufacturing operations, supply chain transformation initiatives and productivity improvement programmes across multiple markets.

Before joining Marzetti, Mr Carter served as Chief Supply Chain Officer at Schwan’s, where he managed operations spanning 18 manufacturing facilities. Earlier, he spent 18 years at Unilever, holding several senior leadership positions, including Senior Vice President of Supply Chain for the company’s North American Ice Cream business and Head of Supply Chain Operations for Canada. He also held engineering and strategic planning roles during the early stages of his career, building expertise in operational efficiency and manufacturing excellence. Mr Carter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.

Welcoming the appointment, Dave Ciesinski, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Marzetti Company, said Mr Carter brings extensive operational knowledge along with proven experience in leading complex supply chain organisations. He noted that Carter’s expertise will help accelerate the company’s efforts to simplify operations, improve productivity and strengthen its manufacturing network to support future business growth.

Mr Carter succeeds Luis Viso, who joined The Marzetti Company as Chief Supply Chain Officer in 2023 and will retire later this year following a distinguished career spanning more than four decades in the food and beverage industry. Mr Ciesinski thanked Mr Viso for his leadership and contributions in modernising Marzetti’s supply chain, noting that his efforts have strengthened operational capabilities and established a solid platform for continued expansion.
