The Bright World of Metals Sharpens Focus on Metals Industry Transformation

Messe Düsseldorf Triumphantly Introduces GIFA and METEC to Indonesia

The metals industry is undergoing changes driven by energy costs, decarbonisation, new technologies, shifting supply chains and growing international competition. Against this backdrop, The Bright World of Metals will bring the global metals and metallurgical industry together in Düsseldorf from June 21 to 25, 2027.

The event will bring together four specialised trade fairs — GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST — covering technologies and solutions across the metallurgical value chain. The organisers are refining the event’s profile ahead of 2027 with a new brand identity, communication formats and digital services.

The new guiding principle, “Explore the Power of Four”, highlights the combined role of the four trade fairs while retaining their individual focus. GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST will continue to provide specialised platforms for their respective sectors while enabling visitors to explore technologies and developments across related areas of the metals industry. The new visual identity uses a Sphere as a common element representing the connection between the four events. According to the organisers, the identity was developed following target audience analysis and discussions with exhibitors and visitors.

“It was crucial for us to develop the new identity from within the industry itself,” said Malte Seifert, Director Metals & Autonomous Technologies. “We looked closely at what drives our exhibitors and visitors today and what they expect from a leading international platform. The Sphere encapsulates this shared understanding: four strong world-leading trade fairs, each with a distinct profile, achieving more together.” Exhibitors already confirmed for the 2027 event include ABP Induction Systems, ASK Chemicals, Eirich, Heinrich Wagner Sinto, Laempe Mössner Sinto, MAGMA, Norican Group and Oskar Frech.

“Our industry faces decisions that will determine its competitiveness for decades to come,” said Till Schreiter, CEO of ABP Induction Systems and President of THERMPROCESS. “This is precisely why ‘The Bright World of Metals’ brings the right people together: companies, researchers, technology providers and users from around the world.”

The event’s content and digital services are also being expanded. A central content hub will provide industry information throughout the year, with key themes including decarbonisation and energy efficiency, smart factories and artificial intelligence, the circular economy, resource efficiency, and new technologies.

The new FairMatch system will enable exhibitors and visitors to identify potential business partners and schedule meetings before the trade fairs begin. Live Partner packages will provide exhibitors with additional digital opportunities through online channels, editorial content and live coverage.

“Our aim is to provide the industry with the best possible support in its transformation and to create an economically viable business platform for exhibitors and visitors,” Mr Seifert said. The four trade fairs will take place at Messe Düsseldorf from June 21 to 25, 2027, bringing together companies, technology providers, researchers and users from across the international metals industry.
