With a trendsetting joint effort to increase the road traffic efficiency, Rohde & Schwarz partners with Audi to deploy Cellular-V2X (C-V2X) Application testing enabling the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester.

Accrediting the multiple simulated vehicles communications, the key purpose is to keep the hawk eye on the Road Traffic Scenarios in the laboratory along with the testing field via class-leading end-to-end testing solutions.

 

Promising the “Test it, Trust it,” conviction, Audi, Rohde & Schwarz, and Vector Informatik, via cooperation, developed a C-V2X testing solution which is based on using the same testing equipment in the lab as in the testing field.

Synchronized with the GNSS positioning system, the simulated vehicles empower the real-time verification of various complex traffic scenarios.

The key highlights of the Cellular-V2X (C-V2X) are enhancing road safety and uplifting autonomous driving, which is foreseen to be a leading transportation solution.

Cellular-V2X (C-V2X), with the C-V2X PC5 interface, supports the operational frequency of 5.9 GHz.

Facilitating the direct, reliable, low latency Vehicle-to-Vehicle, and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure, and Vehicle-to-Vehicle pedestrians communications, the C-V2X PC5 Interface operates in the ITS frequency band.

Composed of R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester, the whole system makes the use of an R&S SMNV100B vector signal generator, Vector CANoe Car2x software, R&S BBA150 Amplifier, and R&S HF918 antenna with a tripod and adapter.

The system is capable enough to generate the 33 dBm power output signals, which is the prime demand of emergency vehicles in certain cases.

Authorizing the real-time demand scenes such as emergency brake warnings, the joint effort ensures the correct operation of the C-V2X applications.
Not only this, verification of the many other scenarios is enabled using Rohde & Schwarz’s C-V2X testing solution.

The key features of this C-V2X testing approach are the use of single equipment in both the workshop and the field, thereby, reducing the number of vehicles required for testing ground.
