Tenneco Clean Air India Limited (BSE/NSE: TENNIND), a leading Tier-1 supplier of Clean Air, Powertrain and Advanced Ride Technologies (ART) solutions, has reported a strong performance for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company began FY2027 on a positive note with robust growth in value-added revenue, continued market share gains and several new business wins across its product portfolio.
Value Added Revenue (VAR) increased 18.4 percent year-on-year to ₹13,816 million, surpassing the 16.2 percent growth recorded in the company’s served automotive market. The performance was supported by new programme launches, higher content per vehicle, stable export demand and a broader customer base across both the Advanced Ride Technologies and Clean Air & Powertrain businesses.
Despite higher commodity prices arising from global geopolitical developments and additional costs related to its transition from a privately held company to a listed entity, Tenneco India maintained a healthy EBITDA margin of 17.9 percent. Profit after tax stood at ₹1,652 million, resulting in a PAT margin of 12 percent. The company noted that the previous year’s quarter included a one-time interest income from the sale of its Motocare business. Excluding that exceptional gain, profit growth in the current quarter remained broadly in line with EBITDA growth.
During the quarter, the company strengthened its leadership in the Advanced Ride Technologies segment. Its DCx Da Vinci suspension technology secured multiple new applications across existing customers while adding four new customers and three additional vehicle models during 2026. The company also launched the new DCx32 suspension system for smaller passenger vehicles, expanding its addressable market. In another milestone, Tenneco successfully completed testing of its Mechanical Adaptive Roll Damping (MARD) system with a leading Indian vehicle manufacturer, further strengthening its locally developed technology portfolio.
The Clean Air & Powertrain business also recorded significant progress with several new programme nominations from passenger and commercial vehicle manufacturers. These included new exhaust systems, emission control technologies, cold-end assemblies and spark plug programmes. The company also enhanced its spark plug portfolio for compatibility with flex-fuel engines using fuel blends of up to E85.
Tenneco India received multiple industry recognitions during the quarter, including the Innovation and Performance Award from Mahindra, the Ride Performance Award 2026 from The Economic Times, and the Technology & Innovation Award from Daimler India Commercial Vehicles.
Commenting on the results, Arvind Chandra, Whole-Time Director and Chief Executive Officer, said the company’s strong start to FY2027 reflects its diversified business model, disciplined execution and continued investment in advanced technologies. He said Tenneco continues to gain market share, strengthen customer partnerships and expand exports, including securing its first order from a leading European ATV manufacturer and a heat shield order from Tenneco America. He added that the company remains focused on innovation, localisation and next-generation mobility solutions while creating sustainable long-term value for customers and stakeholders.
